DAKS Hacks: Stunning Bathroom Renovation in Kent

Out With the Old

We began by protecting the client’s property, carefully sheeting out all areas before starting any work. The old suite was removed completely — every tile, pipe, and panel stripped back to the brick. We even removed a built-in cupboard to create a more spacious layout. Floorboards were lifted, and outdated pipework was replaced to make room for a cleaner, more efficient plumbing system.

Smart, Efficient Pipework

Instead of running everything through one shared pipe, each appliance now has its own dedicated waste line — toilet, basin, bath, and shower. This prevents blockages and reduces odours. The existing 4″ stack was adjusted to allow the WC and basin to sit perfectly within the new alcove. We also modified heating pipework and fitted a brand-new towel rail to complete the system.

A Fresh Blank Canvas

Once the pipework was sorted, our team re-boarded the walls, removed old timber around windows and doors, and worked closely with our electrician to install new lighting, extractor fans, and modern switches. We even corrected an electrical issue by replacing an outdated fuse board with an RCB for added safety.

The New Look

Next came the exciting part — installation. We fitted:

• A modern WC and basin unit
• A new bath and shower tray, raised for level flooring
• High-quality taps, shower riser, screen, and bath panel
• Wall cabinets and a sleek towel rail

Each fixture was carefully installed and tested for leaks, ensuring years of reliable use.

Finishing Touches

To complete the transformation, we tiled around the bath, shower, and splashbacks, then laid new floor tiles. Walls were painted in durable, moisture-resistant paint — white for the ceiling and a soft grey for the walls. All joints were sealed neatly to keep the space watertight. Finally, the heating system was refilled, radiators bled, and everything tested one last time.
